Greater St. Louis School Librarian Association Library Program of the Year Award (Secondary)
The purpose of the Greater St. Louis School Librarian Association Library Program of the Year is to recognize a librarian who creatively promotes the role of the library at the secondary level. This could be in areas such as planning, reading promotions, public relations, and/or curriculum.
Greater St. Louis School Librarian Association Library Media Specialist of the Year Award
The purpose of the Greater St. Louis School Librarian Association Library Media Specialist of the Year Award is to recognize a librarian’s distinguished service and leadership in his/her school library. The librarian will have made a significant impact on the students and staff in his/her school. He/She will have demonstrated a commitment to libraries, especially school libraries, which can serve as a model for others in the profession.
Eligibility: Any school librarian who is a GSLSLA member is eligible. The award recipient shall meet the following criteria:
* active membership in the Greater St. Louis School Librarian Association
* leadership roles within their school or district
* made a significant impact on the lives of his/her students, staff and school community
Award Winners: The recipient will receive a certificate and a plaque.
Nominations: Students, staff, and parents can make nominations using this form.
Greater St. Louis School Librarian Association Advocate of the Year Award
-The purpose of the Greater St. Louis School Librarian Association Advocate of the Year Award is to recognize a person/persons who support the library media services in an exemplary manner to the point that without the services there would be a void had that service not been rendered.
Eligibility: The individual must work in a school district within the GSLSLA region. Individuals to be considered for nominations to this award include but are not limited to:
• teachers
• building and district administrators
• district level library coordinators/directors
• clerical personnel working directly in the school environment
Award Winners: The recipient will receive a certificate and a plaque at the GSLSLA Awards Banquet.
Nominations: GSLSLA librarians can make nominations using this form.
